What Is PCM, and Why It’s in Our Cooling Vest

Dogs overheat quickly. And unlike us, they can’t sweat it out. That’s why we engineered every GhostForm Cooling Vest with the option to go beyond basic mesh — and step into phase change material (PCM) cooling.

What is PCM?

PCM stands for Phase Change Material — a smart textile innovation that stores and releases thermal energy. When a PCM insert reaches its melting point (like 18°C), it absorbs heat from your dog’s body to actively lower their temperature.

Once the insert melts, it can be re-frozen and reused again and again.

Originally developed for medical transport, athletic gear, and high-performance apparel, PCM is now changing the game in dogwear — and we’ve built it right into the core of Ghost Archive’s cooling system.

Why Ghost Archive Uses It

We didn’t just make a cute vest. We built a modular cooling system.

Every GhostForm Cooling Vest includes a hidden, velcro-sealed back pouch designed to fit standard PCM inserts (5x6”). On moderate days, the vest’s evaporative mesh does the job. But when the heat spikes? Slide in a PCM insert and instantly upgrade your cooling game.

Passive + active. Natural + engineered. Your dog deserves both.

Why It Matters for Your Dog

  • Keeps your dog cooler for longer
  • Helps prevent heat stress — especially in flat-faced breeds
  • No electronics, no batteries, no stress
  • You choose when to use it, and which insert works best in your climate

We made cooling smarter — so you can enjoy summer longer.
